To further enhance its commitment to the local community and the environment, 1ST
CENTRAL has pledged to carry out beach cleaning for the whole of 2016.
The insurance company, which is headquartered in Guernsey, carried out its first clean last year as part of its focus on health and wellbeing. Around 38 adults and children, including volunteers from the Guernsey College Football Academy, found a giant piece of driftwood and a huge fish when they tackled Petit Port beach last October
The successful initiative prompted the company to commit to cleaning beaches suggested by the Environment Department throughout this year.
Mike Leonard, 1ST
CENTRAL's Deputy Group CEO, said: “Alongside a focus on the health and wellbeing of our staff, we are also focusing on what we can give back to the communities in which we do business. Across all three jurisdictions, we work with our communities to try to make a difference.”
The first clean of the year took place at Fort Pezeries in April, and employees were once again joined by volunteers from the Guernsey College Football Academy.
